5 years of remembrance for a community that stands together.

Grenfell United.

PRO BONO MEMORIAL SERVICE

Heart was engaged by Grenfell United 5 years ago to work in partnership in its delivery of the Annual Grenfell Memorial Event. Working with Grenfell United, Heart have been tasked with designing and producing the annual memorial event of national importance which must be both fitting and appropriate for the diverse survivor groups and wider local community. Heart were asked to co-ordinate all global press attendance and access whilst providing a host broadcast facility to cover the formal service. Support is also provided for the silent walk and post event speeches which follow the formal memorial service.

The Brief.

For the past five years, Heart has had the privilege of working with Grenfell United, to deliver the memorial service at the base of the Grenfell Tower in North Kensington. Heart works on the project entirely pro bono and dedicates time and resource to commemorate all those who lost their lives in the 2017 fire. Referred to Grenfell United by the Mayor of London’s office, Heart works directly with Grenfell survivors and their families to deliver a memorial service infrastructure. The event is designed by Heart to suit the needs of all involved and ensures a safe and peaceful memorial space.

The ceremony is comprised of a service and wreath-laying at the base of the tower, together with all preparation and management of the rolling road closure associated with the Silent Walk. The service is attended by over 10,000 people annually, including local dignitaries as well as members of the Royal Family, for whom Heart makes all required security provisions. Heart also works closely with Grenfell United to ensure editorial coverage is efficiently organised in such a way that allows media to secure the content they need, without intruding on those seeking to pay their respects at a very sensitive time.
