Coca-Cola launched the Share a Coke campaign in early 2013, putting 150 of the UK's most popular names on their bottles, creating a social media storm. HEART Design were tasked with designing a solution to amplify this and take Share a Coke to the nation.
Heart created two custom designed and built “Share a Coke pods”, where consumers could come up type their name into a custom piece of software. Each pod was designed to work alone or in tandem with its twin.
The pods needed to be flexible and agile in order to reach all of the locations across the UK and were designed to be self-dismountable using hydraulic legs. Once off the trailer, due to its thought through design, all of the other construction could be carried out by un-trained promotional staff saving thousands in needing a separate build crew to travel with it.
The pods were a huge success producing over 260,000 bottles.
Alongside the pods, HEART were also briefed to create a modular, in-store solution that could fit into Tesco supermarkets across the country, each store with a completely different layout than the last. This was executed via a bespoke plinth that housed all of the software, hardware and label printer, creating a plug and play, clean and simple solution.
